Fare Deal: Business Class to Hong Kong for $1,800 Round-Trip
I thought it was going to be a lazy Saturday morning, that is, until I started reading this thread on Flyertalk. Since then, I’ve been spending the past hour shopping for flights!
There’s a smoking hot deal over at Ctrip which is a Chinese OTA for ~$1,800 round-trip Business Class tickets from Hong Kong to Los Angeles. It looks like you can fly the Trans-Pacific segment in either United and ultimately connect to LAX via SFO, or on ANA and connect to LAX via Tokyo.
The calendar appears to be wide open – here’s a random example for next June. United is pricing out for $11,993 CNY which comes out to $1,808 USD.
ANA is slightly more expensive at $14,376 CNY which converts to $2,167 USD.
For the extra ~$300, personally I’d probably fly ANA which has one of the best Business Class products out there.
For reference, here’s the fine print on the ticket policy:
Change conditions:
CNY 2760 will be charged for ticket changes per adult within the same class, children will be charged the same as adults,CNY 180 for per infant. When date change results in a flight ticket price difference, both date change fee and flight ticket price difference will be charged. Change of departure date must be made 7 days ahead of original departure date. Altered departure date must be between Oct-01-2016 and Dec-30-2100 , and it also must be more than 7 days ahead of the changing date.
Refund conditions:
No refund.
Endorsement conditions:
No endorsement. Duration of stay: Minimum 3 days. Validity period: 30 days
Baggage restrictions:
Hong Kong-San Francisco: 2 piece(s), 32kg each per person (excluding infants); San Francisco-Los Angeles: 2 piece(s), 32kg each per person (excluding infants)
ANA would be extremely poor choice if you get one of their angled seats which are horrible for sleep.
Uh, how is this “Fare Deal: Business Class to Hong Kong for $1,800 Round-Trip” if it’s originating in Hong Kong?
Rather deceptive title if you ask me.
