Alaska Airlines Adds Even More Southern California Routes

Alaska Airlines had recently announced new routes between San Jose, CA and both Orange County and San Diego, and before those flights have even started, they are back at it again with even more new routes to Southern California.

Today, they announced that 3x daily service between Sacramento and San Diego, as well as San Jose and Burbank, will begin March 16, 2017. The routes will be operated by the 76-seat E175 jets, operated by SkyWest Airlines, which has 12 first class and 12 premium class seats. The full schedule is shown below:

It doesn’t appear that the new routes are loaded into the system so no prices have been released yet, but I’d expect that fares will be competitive given that they are going head-to-head with Southwest. Keep in mind, another great benefit is that since the routes will be operated by Alaska Airlines flights, they are eligible for the Bank of America companion pass.
