5X Miles On Flights With Alaska Airlines Credit Card
Keep an eye out for an offer via email today for 5X miles for every dollar of qualifying spend at AlaskaAirlines.com through March 31, 2015. The card already provides 3X miles per dollar on Alaska Airlines tickets, vacation packages, and cargo purchases, so it’s essentially a 2X bonus.
Unfortunately, the bonus is capped at 2,500 miles, meaning that it’s effectively good for the first $1,250 in purchases made. While that may not be enough to excite many of you, there’s a couple of things to keep in mind:
- There is no fee for MVP Gold and MVP 75k elite members to cancel revenue tickets. Therefore, you can simply cancel and re-book existing reservations, and earn an additional 2X miles on that spend. Keep in mind that refunds are provided in the form of credits and vouchers to be used on future bookings, and not actual cash refunds.
- As I’ve written about previously, this card is extremely churnable, and you may have several laying around. I received the bonus for each of my cards, which multiplies the 2,500 bonus.
So while this isn’t exactly the most lucrative bonus offer, it’s certainly an easy one to achieve, especially if you already had future trips planned.
