It’s been a fun and exciting week as the featured blogger on BoardingArea! To wrap things up, in case you missed it here’s a summary of the top posts from the past week.
Just a note that I’ll continue to be featured into the middle of next week, so make sure to keep an eye out as I have a huge giveaway planned. You can keep up-to-date on the latest updates by adding me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram (or by using the buttons on the right-hand side) and feel free to drop me an email anytime!

2. While everyone’s elite status progress has reset to “0”, here’s something to ease the pain – the new year means a new set of $200 American Express Platinum travel credits for all.
3. Jump in on the two trip reports that are still ongoing – “Hawaii Six-O” detailing a recent trip to Oahu, Hawaii to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthdays and retirements and “Spain-giving 2014” detailing a recent trip to Barcelona over Thanksgiving weekend.
4. Here’s a trick to expedite receipt of your 2 free night sign-up bonus from the Citi Hilton Reserve credit card.
5. And lastly, a summary of Hungry for Points’ Top 10 posts of 2014. Unsurprisingly, the top 2 were all about the bling.
in the past I have had my AmEx platinum not reimburse for AA gift cards $200. The AmEx agent said that that wasn’t an approved purchase. Ideas?
It’s certainly a risk but if you buy them in small denominations (ideally $50-$75) and on separate days, that will maximize your chances. Specifically with AA, I’ve read that this link has been successful for many:
